Beginning June 21, Scott Sterner will assume the role of executive vice president of national ministries for the Evangelical Free Church of America. Scott joins the EFCA Office of the President team with leadership experience at every level of ministry within the association.

For more than 20 years, Scott served in pastoral roles within two EFCA churches. Since 2013, he has served in a church planting role with the Forest Lakes District. For the last five years, he served as the director of operations for ReachNetwork—the collaborative, district-based church planting effort of the EFCA.

In recent years, Scott simultaneously served as the assistant district superintendent of the Forest Lakes District—a vibrant, rapidly growing district and strong partner with national office ministries and leadership.

Scott’s experience and established relationships within the EFCA position him to maintain positive momentum at the national ministry level while also deepening collaborative efforts with districts and local churches.

Scott received a master's degree in theological studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and he attends Door Creek Church (EFCA) in Madison, Wisconsin. Scott and his wife, Carrie, have five children and four grandchildren.

Join us as we pray for God’s provision for the Forest Lakes District as they navigate a leadership transition as well as for Scott and the EFCA’s national ministries as he transitions into his new role.
