Opportunities SHORT-TERM
Urban Impact Ministries & Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts EFCA Compassion is partnering with Urban Impact Ministries and Castle Rock Church to provide hurricane relief, recovery to the body of Christ, and outreach and evangelism to the people of New Orleans. EFCA Compassion is currently seeking teams of 5 or more adults, and anticipate future opportunities for teams of youth and families to serve once circumstances are more stable.

BUMP - Bridging Urban Mission Project BUMP is a week-long urban mission experience for junior and senior high students, working with EFCA churches in 8 cities across the United States. The purpose of BUMP is empowering and serving alongside neighborhood Christians as they minister to the urban community through their local churches.

INTERNSHIPS
UTOPIA - Urban Target Outreach Project in America UTOPIA is a year-long urban missions internship for young adults who are willing to using their gifts, talents, energy and calling to serve and empower urban churches to effectively minister to their communities. UTOPIA missionaries minister in New York City churches and assist them in reaching out to their local communities for at least a year, beginning mid-August thru the end of July. In return UTOPIA missionaries will receive mentoring and hands-on training in urban ministry, and will learn to develop a theology of the city.

Urban Impact Ministries Urban Impact Ministries is a ministry of the EFCA in New Orleans with a mission to transform the Central City through spiritual development, Christian community development, and strategic partnerships. Urban Impact has both summer and 9-12 month internships available for young adults, ages 18-25.

The Nehemiah House The Nehemiah House is an urban ministry internship in partnership with First EFC of Los Angeles. This internship is for college students who want more than a classroom education, who want life experience serving and learning in a diverse urban environment. In addition to studying and house bible studies and prayer, interns spend 5-20 hours serving in the community through holistic ministries. Most of the interns work with youth or children through mentoring and discipleship ministries.
