To be engaged in the challenging work of Christian Community Development, you must posses a strong sense that God has called you to be pioneers; living and working in under-resourced communities throughout our nation and world.

In these communities, talk is cheap.  What is needed is a clear demonstration of the God’s Kingdom reality, being lived out by His people.  Our neighbors want to see Jesus in us, working and praying for Shalom.  They want to see us loving one another.  They need to see us using our gifts and talents to create an environment of empowerment—not creating dependency.  They also need to see us worshipping and serving God in local churches that are not only in the community, but of and for the community.  They need to see us taking the love and message of Christ beyond the four walls of the church.

“Show Me Jesus—Beyond the Walls”, is the challenge we face in a society and world that is more and more divided.  As followers of Christ, must show everyone that Jesus is indeed alive and working to heal our world, with the church as His primary agent of hope.  And, to be faithful to this mandate we must go beyond the walls of our comfort zones, into places of extreme brokenness and marginalization.
