AFRICAN-AMERICAN MINISTRIES
Emerging Black Leaders Internship Training and Equipping African-American Leaders for Ministry in the EFCA
The EFCA is committed to investing in the lives of young black leaders as they seek to be faithful laborers for Christ's Kingdom. The Emerging Black Leaders Program is a ministry of the African-American Fellowship that seeks to empower and equip emerging black church planters, pastoral leaders, and ministry leaders within the EFCA movement for Kingdom work. This non-traditional mentoring program works in partnership with EFCA districts, local congregations, and ministry partners in order to provide the needed exposure, training, and ministry experience for each intern.
Meet Mayo Angba, Emerging Black Leaders intern
The EFCA African-American Fellowship is excited to partner with Mayo Angba as our Emerging Black Leader Intern. Mayo's passion is to mobilize young people of color to missions, both domestic and abroad. As an undergraduate student at Indiana University she became involved with Campus Crusade for Christ's IMPACT Movement. She also remained active in her home church, Solid Word EFC, providing leadership for the Singles' Ministry and participating in short-term missions' trips to Nigeria, South Africa, and Turkey.
Mayo serves now as an urban missionary with the IMPACT Movement as part of a two-year fellowship program. She lives in inner-city Orlando and serves on staff with their Human Resources department. Mayo's responsibilities include mobilizing IMPACT alum to missions, mentoring high school and college students, and volunteering with conferences. As our Emerging Black Leader Intern, she will connect with our black EFCA leaders and visit their churches to promote the IMPACT Movement and missions' opportunities within the EFCA.
