General District Information The EFCA is divided into 18 districts to better serve the needs of the local church. In cooperation with the staff at the National Office, superintendents over each of those districts serve as part of the National Ministry Team in order to:
- Connect congregations with one another to share ministry ideas and strategies
- Support pastors in their ministries and personal spiritual growth
- Provide congregations with tools for church health
- Provide a strategy for church planting within the district
- Intervene in church conflict situations to bring godly resolution
- Help congregations find pastors
- Ensure high pastoral standards through licensing and ordination councils
- Give leadership to support ministries such as Christian camps and homes for senior citizens
- Provide training and encouragement to pastors and church leaders
The district structure of the EFCA is designed to provide hands-on support to local congregations and to encourage close cooperation between EFCA churches in those districts. Through this cooperation, these churches can more naturally establish Healthy Church Networks, encourage church planting, and initiate and support ethnic ministries. And through this cooperation, pastors can powerfully link together for encouragement and the growth of needed ministry skills.
