Mission: Why We Exist

The EFCA National Children and Family Ministries Council exists to help churches establish and grow effective Children and Family Ministries that are integrated into the disciplemaking fabric of the church.

Vision: Our Preferred Future

The National Children and Family Ministries Council will become a valued resource to equip local EFCA churches for effective Children and Family Ministries.

Values: What We Believe

Children are...
  • Valued by God (Matthew 19:14)
  • Open to God (1 Samuel 3)

Effective Children and Family Ministries are...
  • Strategic -- They are commanded by God (Deuteronomy 6: 6-7), essential to the health of the church, and focused on the age when most people turn to Christ.
  • Intentional -- They must receive excellent planning and resources. (1 Corinthians 14:40)
  • Integrated -- They partner with families, other church ministries, other churches and the EFCA.

Children's Ministers are...

  • Parents/guardians, who are the primary children's ministers (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
  • Volunteers, who do the church ministry
  • Professionals, who lead, equip and support the volunteers as well as the parents/guardians
